Member’s Day - 22nd September 2002

Well over a 1000 people attended this very special day. The weather however, was not kind and despite having reasonable periods of bright sunshine there were deluges of rain and a strong wind. The cross wind made the flying situation extremely difficult for the aircrew and the full intended display was not possible.

Visitors did not seem to be daunted by the adverse weather and made the most of what was on show and for sale.

The stalls were filled with excellent memorabilia and buying was brisk.

The ladies in the teabar did an excellent job of serving tea and coffee to an endless string of thirsty customers.

The Visitor Centre was also very popular and on many occasions was filled to capacity.

I had hoped to take much more video and additional photographs during the course of the day but had to be satisfied with a selection of images to include in this record of the day. I hope you find them interesting.

Lincolnshire’s Lancaster Association thank all the people who were involved in making the day happen and particularly to all the BBMF personnel who played the major part in all aspects of a very special day.

Last and by no means least - thank you to all the members who came in force to enjoy the day. May we also welcome those who have applied for membership - your support is vital.

Thankyou

John Beal - webmaster
